She has been a social worker for 20 years and has been an employee with Housing Works since 2008. Sakina works with clients with diverse needs, including those affected by PTSD, anxiety, depression, chronic illness, and substance use. Sakina tailors her interventions based on clients' needs and incorporates various clinical intervention and strategies: drawing from motivational interviewing, harm reduction, relational, and psychodynamic therapies as well as evidence-based interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to help clients develop healthier coping skills. She fosters a therapeutic space where clients can freely express their concerns and work toward their personal goals.
