Elizabeth (Lizzie) MacGillivray LMSW (she/her) received her BS in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh, then her Master of Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. She is a therapist with specializations in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), self-compassion, and motivational interviewing (MI). Lizzie has experience and training in grief counseling, and currently leads the grief support group at 125th St.

In her therapeutic practice, Lizzie utilizes mindfulness skills, a strength-based approach, and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). She is passionate about providing LGBTQ+ affirming and trauma informed care to all of her clients. She values the importance of the therapeutic alliance with her clients, and focuses on building a foundation of empathy and trust. Lizzie believes in providing a non-judgmental space for clients to explore, heal, and work toward their own personal goals.
