She has worked in a wide range of settings and roles, including nurse, nurse manager, and nursing supervisor for mental health institutions, hospitals, nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, schools, and homes. She received her Master of Science for Family Nurse Practitioners from Lehman College in 2020 and is presently pursuing her Doctorate in Nursing at Adelphi University.
Shireen was born and raised in Guyana, a small, rural country in South America that instilled in her a dedication to family and community care. This inspired her to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with the Red Cross Society at 19, which created her passion for meeting patients’ needs with empathy. She then pursued her nursing career after moving to the United States. Shireen’s main priority is to provide patients with quality care that builds trust for the healthcare system, and she remains dedicated to creating healthy working relationships with all patients and colleagues.
