Melissa Bhikham

Melissa Bhikham, MD, AAHIVS graduated from New York University with a B.A. in Biology in May 2012 and later earned her Medical Degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, NY in May 2017. Eventually, she later completed her Family Medicine residency at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in Queens, NY in June 2020, which included experience working in the hospital setting during the first wave of the COVID pandemic.

Melissa now works as a Family Physician and Medical Director of the Downtown Brooklyn Housing Works Health Center. There she takes care of patients of all ages as well as specializes in pediatric care, women's health, HIV care, transgender health, and substance use disorders in underserved patient populations of NYC. As a physician, Melissa hopes to continue serving medically underserved areas locally and globally as well as teach patients to be strong advocates of their health and mental well-being.
